A Profile of the FirmHistoryChotais is a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants based in Brisbane, Australia. The firm originally came into being in 1980 and had four partners (including San and Nish Chotai). It had offices in Inala and Aspley. In 1980 an office was opened in Toowong with a view to centralizing small business clientele. Small business has historically been defined by the firm as business enterprises having an annual turnover of less than $50 million in current year dollars. Such small business has always been the prime focus of the firm. The eighties saw the a takeover of a city based firm of accountants and the departure of Messrs. Farinazzo and Densley as partners leaving only the Chotais. Ivan Farinazzo later rejoined the firm as a consultant in 1992. All through this period Chotais was based in Sherwood House in Toowong. The move to the current premises came upon the purchase of the floor in late 1992. Client ProfileThe firm has a large range of clients ranging from individuals through small public companies to some government and quasi-government clients. The primary focus of the firm has always been small business (as defined above). This probably constitutes in excess of ninety per cent of the firm's client base. Both the Chotais and Ivan Farinazzo have a considerable amount of small business management experience on account of their own varied business interests. This, we believe, adds a special flavour to the professional advice. |
